A Speech that the world should have heard.
Weapons of Mass Destruction?...gimme a break.

Presidential address, September 12, 2001.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the President of the United States

My fellow Americans, and citizens of the world. Yesterday, September 11, 2001 marks yet another day in human history where the dark forces of evil have reared their ugly heads.

In the early morning of September 11, with skies clear and blue and unsuspecting, unknown terrorists took advantage of America's open borders, our freedom of movement, and our trusting nature by leveling two of Americas proudest buildings, and severely damaging our central military headquarters, the Pentagon. Additionally, these unknown cowards were thwarted from doing addtional damage because of the heroic efforts of American citizens aboard a fourth commercial jet liner.

Most importanty, this new yet to be determined enemy has killed thousands of citizens from many countries, wounded many hundreds of others, and created havoc in the most centralized and important piece of real estate on planet earth.

These terrorist  acts were unprovoked, unexpected, and  unprecidented in their cowardly nature.

As I speak our first responders are busy searching for survivors, our doctors and nurses are healing those injured, our engineers are examining debris, our architects are making drawings of those buildings which will replace those now sitting as a rubble strewn cemetary of innocents, and our military and other assets are busy tracking the true provocatuers of this henious crime against American citizens, and against the civilized world at large.

Your actions have defiled all that is right about life on planet earth. Yes, you have dealt the United States a painful unexpected punch, but we will survive, rebuild, and become more than we were. However, your future is different.

It is to the last point that I now want to speak. For those guilty parties who are certainly listening to this broadcast, it is vital that you get right with your maker. Whether you believe in Budda, Allah, Jesus Christ, or the man in the moon, now is the time to make peace with your particular savior...because once the United States military is pointed your way it will only be your god that can save you.

Once convinced by the preponderance of the evidence that we have identified the guilty parties, the United States military will be authorized to utilize whatever force is needed to balance the equation...more than just balance...the United States military will utilize suffient force to guarantee that such a sneak attack can never again be deployed by the now guilty parties.

It will not matter in what country you hide, or in what city, or under whose roof. It will not matter if you are an advanced culture, or one capable of only throwing stones...soon you will experience the full potential of the United States military.

Finallly, to all citizens of the world, if you are innocent and in no way connected to the events of September 11, 2001, then you have no need to fear the United States, however, we will require full and absolute cooperation of all countries and governments in our pursuit of those persons responsible for the events of September 11, 2001.

For the mean time my fellow citizens, stay close with your families, remain level headed, and as you deal with the aftermath of this horrible attack, know that your government is working feverishly to identify and eliminate those responsible.

Thank you and good night.

Why in the #%@* can we not replace the Twin Towers?
America can no longer get out of its own way.

In 1941 the Japanese attacked US forces in Pearl Harbor Hawaii...four years later the United States had balanced the equation in unequivocal terms.

How you ask? There are many factors, however, looking beyond all other considerations the United States simply our produced the rest of the world. We built war machines like there was no tomorrow, motivated by the belief that failing to do such could spell the end to the worlds most promising democracy.

Some perspective; The American populaiton in 1941 was 150 million. Within six weeks following the bombing of Pearl Harbor over FIFTY MILLION adult Americans had volunteered for military service. By the end of the war in 1945 nearly 16 million had served. And while the men and women in uniform were on the other side of the oceans doing the trigger pulling, backhome the American work force was burning the midnight oil producing war machines at a rate not seem prior to, and not seen since. Those dedicated souls produced 330,000 aircraft, 7,777 merchant marine ships, millions of artillary shells, billions of pounds of explosives, tanks, trucks, tents, uniforms, K-rations, and the list goes on and on and on...now compare that to todays world. Hell... in the world of today we don't even seem to be able to up-armor Humvee's!

Our hearts are clearly not into a combative war on terrorism, regardless of what they did to us. We as a population are a faint shadow of what we used to be. We as a collective have not answered the call to arms. Our predecessors did not want to leave home and struggle to survive for four years on the other side of the world no more than we do now, but they did it with minimal complaints. Today...well, I guess we require a guarantee from on high that to stand our ground is the right thing to do. As a society we seem to lack a compass, or even more sadly, we have never been taught  how to use one. Thus, I guess it is not surprising that we cannot get off square one when attempting to replace the Twin Towers...we are quite simply lost within clear view of the obvious.

Bottom line; Those two buildings should have been replaced with equivalent towers within thirty months. It would have shown the world that they had again awakened a sleeping giant and filled it with a terrible resolve.

Instead, I fear we are terminally comatose.
